Solar panels on a Kyivstar tower: autonomous power for a base station
Together with Kyivstar we installed an autonomous power system at one of the operator’s base stations. The station now keeps the link up during power outages without a diesel generator.
What we did
The DeepNet Group team designed the system, supplied the equipment and installed it in two days. The station stayed on air throughout the work.
- 12 solar panels on the equipment room roof
- lithium iron phosphate batteries, 30 kWh
- a controller that switches the station between the grid, the panels and the batteries on its own
What it gives
During planned outages the station runs for up to 18 hours without the grid. Subscribers nearby do not notice that the power is off.
The station keeps the link up for up to 18 hours without the grid — enough to ride out the longest planned outage.
We build such systems for state customers too — more on the Special services page.
